South East Coastal Underwriters has an immediate position for a full-time Insurance Underwriter at our Hilton Head office located in South Carolina.
- Review insurance applications and related documents to evaluate risk.
- Analyze applicant data including financial status medical history and property details.
- Determine coverage amounts premiums and policy terms.
- Use underwriting software and guidelines to assess risk and make decisions.
- Collaborate with agents brokers and other stakeholders to gather additional information.
- Monitor existing policies for changes in risk and recommend adjustments.
- Stay updated on industry trends regulations and underwriting best practices.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience as an insurance underwriter or in a similar role.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Professional certifications (e.g. CPCU ARM AU).
- Experience in E&S property casualty flood etc.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
