Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Charge Nurse at Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center youll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients.
Every interaction is an opportunity to improve your understanding of a patients needs the needs of your nursing team or the needs of your unit. Youll advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential which aligns with your departments operational goals and objectives.
To thrive in this role you need to be accountable and confident. Youre an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. Its also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
- Mentors others in areas such as competency documentation equipment use plan of care National Patient Safety Goals and participation in inservice education.
- Coaches to improve care
Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department. - Prepares work schedules assigns personnel.
- Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care
- Demonstrates appropriate prioritization and critical thinking skills in critical situations
Job Requirements
- Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or charge nurse experience
- AZ RN license
- AHA BLS and ACLS
- ADN or foreign equivalent.
- Skilled Working Knowledge of the EMR and hospital systems.
Preferred
- CVICU experience or Critical Care Charge Nurse
- BSN
- Certification in Specialty
