Job Summary

Your Role as Central Product Owner Regulatory

As the Central Product Owner (CPO) for our CDD Digital Journey you are responsible for driving the digital transformation within our WB Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) domain. We are evolving the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) process from manual to meaningful. While focusing on developing our employee workflow solution we are also committed to fully digitizing the CDD outcomes and leveraging AI to assist in automating the daily repetitive tasks we currently face. Additionally we ensure that our end-clients are supported in a fully digital manner to maximize client satisfaction and minimize client effort.

As a CPO within the FCP domain you are at the heart of this change and responsible for managing our capability-oriented team setup. You bridge the gap between business needs and delivery teams balancing innovation operational impact and employee/client centricity.

You proactively anticipate dependencies and collaborate across Wholesale Banking tribes countries and other ING organizations to design a seamless user experience across products countries and channels. Your detailed roadmap guides our stakeholders and your excellent communication skills ensure everyone knows what to expect.

You manage and prioritize the product backlog using data-informed decision-making working closely with the Change Board and other governance bodies to ensure high-value delivery. As a key liaison across the FCP teams and delivery tribes you ensure transparency alignment and engagement throughout the change lifecycle.

Additionally you oversee first- and second-line incident resolution ensuring stability and responsiveness across the digital product landscape. You take ownership of risk management and maintain a strong focus on IT governance and controls.

In the Regulatory team you own the design and delivery of a central API-based CDD Policy Requirements Service that ensures consistent application of INGs regulatory and compliance standards across all digital CDD products and processes. You translate ING policy and management information requirements into clear actionable digital rules that support workflows AI and other systems in maintaining compliance.

You actively liaise with the Center of Excellence for FCP compliance IT and operations to ensure that policy requirements are not only correctly translated but also practically integratedbalancing compliance with operational efficiency. This close collaboration helps prevent gaps between policy and execution.

You understand the operational challenges policy changes bring to the CDD process and develop a clear vision for policy versioning and management. You take ownership of monitoring the services performance proactively identifying improvements and resolving issues to maintain stability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Design

  • Understand regulatory CDD requirements and translate ING policy into a scalable API-based digital policy service that drives compliance across the CDD journey.
  • Design and evolve the policy service to integrate seamlessly with existing KYC/CDD workflows and enable reuse of policy logic across multiple applications.
  • Collaborate actively with compliance IT operations and the Center of Excellence to ensure policy requirements are practical operationally efficient and fully embedded in delivery.
  • Maintain and develop the Q6 product roadmap to deliver long-term business value (operational effectiveness) and operational impact ensuring that business value is validated post-delivery to measure impact effectively.
  • Monitor service performance and stability proactively identifying improvements and resolving issues to ensure reliable compliant operations.

Governance

  • Provide input and participate in the regular QBR review cycle where progress is monitored planning is communicated and priorities are set.
  • You provide bi-weekly updates into the FCP change board to inform all relevant stakeholders and prepare clear decision and information requests when needed.
  • With your colleague CPOs you ensure that dependencies between the teams are actively managed and you inform transparently on any impediments you foresee.
  • Collaborate with internal (GPLs Legal Compliance and Risk teams) to ensure product decisions reflect current and upcoming regulatory expectations.
  • Liaise with the COE within FCP to ensure quality control by providing data measurement requirements to the workflow team.
  • Ensure proper alignment of new compliance requirements between all services within the end-to-end solution maintaining consistency and regulatory integrity.

Backlog Ownership & Prioritization

  • Prioritize regulatory-driven changes and ensure timely implementation of mandatory compliance updates across the end-to-end WB CDD landscape.
  • Maintain high-quality actionable backlog items to guide development teams effectively.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as an point of contact and maintain strong engagement with regulatory stakeholders and ensure clear communication of compliance-related product decisions and timelines.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement ensuring clarity around the product vision priorities and delivery expectations.

Incident & Issue Management

  • Ensure that incidents with regulatory impact are objectively assessed escalated resolved and documented in accordance with internal and external requirements.
  • Create dashboarding for monitoring the effectiveness of the digital policy service.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and proactively monitor user metrics enabling data-driven improvements and early detection of issues.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure all product changes and evolutions comply with regulatory and risk requirements. You ensure mandatory risk management activities are performed and evidence is provided when needed.
  • Proactively assess and mitigate risks during the design and delivery phases embedding compliance into the product lifecycle.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and proactively assess their impact on the product ensuring readiness and alignment with INGs risk appetite and compliance framework.

As a Central Product Owner you will need:

  • AMasters degreeor equivalent academic background supported by relevant practical experience.
  • At least5 years of experience in Wholesale Banking gained in either back office Operations Guidance or Compliance.
  • A minimum of5 years of relevant product development experience ideally in Data Software development IT-driven environments or GRC specific environment is a pre.
  • A strong track record indriving and implementing change with a focus on improving end-to-end processes.
  • Experience working inAgile environments with a solid understanding of product ownership and delivery cycles.
  • The ability to operate effectively inmulticultural and cross-functional settings.
  • Fluent in English speaking and in writing.
