The Opportunity

For our Abbott Molecular Diagnostics division we are currently looking for a Technical Application Specialist to join our regional team. This role will be responsible for daily application support for our clients in Central Eastern Europe (on-site) and in Russia (remotely). This is a permanent full-time role requiring regular travelling across assigned territory.

Working days in this position are Tuesday-Saturday (no travelling on Saturdays - only remote support).

What Youll do:

  • Providetechnical productdemonstrations to customers for instrumentassayandapplications.
  • Assist local Sales and Marketing representatives by providing technical details and input prior during or after Sales calls.
  • SupportUser Group Meetings congresses and exhibitions by providing product demos presentations and additional activities as required.
  • Providecustomer trainingat the customers laboratory or at Abbotttrainingfacilities.
  • Acquire necessarytrainingandpresentationskills to build and deliver efficient and effectivetrainingto AM customers.
  • Translate complex matters into easily understandable andmotivatingtrainingunits.
  • Takeownershipfor reported customer inquiries and complaints and make sure that all requests and issues are answered and resolved in a timely manner and maximumcustomer satisfactionis achieved.
  • Investigate error conditions diagnose probable root causes and provide troubleshooting solutions over the phone or at customer sites.
  • Manage escalated issues and coordinate all required activities toresolve customer complaintsand meet customer expectations and timeline.
  • Preparetechnical productlaunches on a regional or country level.
  • Form the link between customers in EMEA and technical organizations in AM tofacilitatean effective flow of information.
  • Ensure full compliance to AM Quality and Regulatory Procedures.
  • Meet the timeline and goals for complaint registration and investigation as well as complaint closure as defined by QA andService/Support Management.

Required qualifications & background:

  • Scientific degree or High School Diploma in Molecular Biology Biochemistry or related subject is preferred.
  • Alternatively equivalent experience in a laboratory environment with focus on molecular diagnostic systems and assays.
  • Preferably experience as Product Specialist Support Specialist or a related function in Molecular Diagnostic Industry.
  • Knowledge of common molecular biological techniques required for the support of highly demanding product portfolio of AM e.g. Nucleic Acid Extraction PCR Sequencing FISH - would be considered as an asset.
  • Highly developed analytical skills for effective solving of complex and demanding failure conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationship to internal and external customers and to facilitate effective problem solving over the phone or at customer site.
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 75% of total working time).
  • Fluent English and Russian.
  • Ability to work remotely on Saturday (phone support to Russian speaking clients).
