What Youll Be Doing
As a Senior Manager in Finance Governance and Controls you will be involved in various initiatives primarily supporting the Capital Markets Controllership (Accounting and Product Control) and other Finance businesses as needed. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that there is an appropriate and effective governance structure is in place and providing advisory services for process enhancements control implementation key risk identification risk assessments (such as RCSA CIRA etc.) risk and control mapping and regulatory exposure review among others activities. You will maintain ongoing control effectiveness through developing test plans and perform reviews and testing to assess design and operating effectiveness of the control environment. You will oversee a team of business consultants within the Finance Governance & Controls team managing risk and governance initiatives to ensure that comprehensive governance coverage across different lines of business within Finance.

How Youll Succeed
Governance and Advisory Activities: Act as a governance and control business partner for Capital Markets Controllership providing guidance and advise to accountable officers on Governance best practices in alignment with CIBC policies.
Control Activities: Review and/or test controls for design and operating effectiveness identify any control deficiencies and monitor timely implementation of remediation plans.
Operational Risk Management: Monitor the completion of incident reports Risk and controls self-assessments and change initiative risk assessments.
Relationship Management: Primary relationship manager with key stakeholders across the organization including: Business Internal Audit External Auditors Risk Management and internal SOX Office.

You can demonstrate experience in or knowledge of banking and associated risks and controls. Its an asset if you have knowledge of Capital Markets and experience from auditing firms or internal audit at other financial institutions.
Youre a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing as a CFA /CA /CPA /CIA or are pursuing a relevant designation.
