Deputy Director of Strategic Innovation

The Arc of King County serves all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the lifespan: from prenatal diagnosis through end-of-life care.Our programs include: Information and Family Support; Supported Living Services; and Public Policy and Civic Engagement. The Director of Strategic Innovation is a visionary leader who drives the organizations programmatic activities and ensures they are impactful efficient and aligned with the organizations mission. This includes Supported Living Public Policy & Civic Engagement Information & Family Support as well as the addition of any new programs.

Organizational Reporting Relationships

Department: Admin

Reports to: Executive Director

Essential Functions

All Programs

  • Fundraising and Development Responsible for contributing to grant writing and fundraising efforts to support program initiatives.
  • Compliance and Reporting Ensuring all programs adhere to relevant regulations and reporting requirements by developing implementing and monitoring policies that uphold standards and funder expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders including employees funders and community members.
  • Evaluation and Impact Responsible for measuring the effectiveness of all programs assessing outcomes making recommendations for improvement analyzing sustainability.
  • Data Management Enhancing and expanding current data management systems to improve data accuracy accessibility and security while utilizing insights to strengthen overall program impact.
  • Team Leadership & Change Management- Managing and supporting staff development fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment that enhances the organizations mission.

New Programs

  • Strategic Planning Responsible for developing and implementing program strategies; ensuring alignment with the organizations overall mission and goals.
  • Development Responsible for designing creating and launching new programs.
  • Management - Overseeing the day-to-day operations of programs including resource allocation budgeting forecasting staffing and performance monitoring.
    • Will act as program director until program director is identified or program is allocated/assigned to another pre-existing program.
  • Evaluation and Impact Responsible for establishing key performance indicators.

Existing Programs

  • Strategic Planning Responsible for collaborating with program directors to evolve and refine program strategies ensuring alignment with the organizations overall mission and goals.
  • Development Responsible for collaborating with current program directors to improve & support the evolution of these programs.
  • Management Responsible for collaborating with program directors in overseeing the day-to-day operations of programs including resource allocation budgeting forecasting staffing and performance monitoring.
  • Evaluation and impact - Responsible for collaborating with program directors to ensure program success and evaluation is based on applicable key performance indicators.

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Ability to sustain prolonged focus on tasks
  • Ability to work efficiently with rapidly changing priorities and common interruptions
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift push and pull up to 25 pounds independently occasionally.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to efficiently use phone email and internet
  • Requires the ability to commute to locations within King County Washington. With the potential for additional extended travel required with advance notice provided.
  • Regular presence in office. Ensuring alignment with current in office work policy.
  • Work hours typically occur between 8:30 AM 4:30 PM Monday-Friday with some flexibility
  • Occasional evening or weekend work will be required with advance notice.

Hours/Salary/Benefits

This is a full-time supervisory exempt position with full benefits. Pay for this position ranges from $98k to $100k depending on experience.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree in Business Administration Public Administration HumanResources or related field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7 years of progressive leadership experience preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources IT systems and facilities management.
  • Experience working with or advocating for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit compliance and reporting requirements.
