GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Central Supply Supervisor the Unit Supply Technician (UST) maintains the various supply locations throughout the hospital including the central warehouse. This work encompasses daily replenishment activities as well as equipment readiness and distribution. Unit Supply Technicians also fulfill special supply and equipment requests. Manage various supply carts (multi-discipline) and maintain all transaction records associated with these duties.
These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner in accordance with the mission values and behaviors of Insight Chicago Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care service and kindness toward all patients staff physicians volunteers and guests.
III. DESCRIPTION: Duties and Responsibilities:
Picking and Delivery: 60% of Time Spent - Performs the duties required to support and maintain the Demand Flow replenishment program as described in the departments Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Fulfills other supply orders (on and offsite) that are noton the Demand Flow replenishment program per thedelivery schedule maintained by the SCM Supervisor.
- Maintains order accuracy and timely reconciliation ofany interruption to the supply chain.
- Accurately fulfills direct supply orders as requested by the clinical departments in a timely fashion.
- Accurately fulfills various medical supplyreplenishment carts (eg: Isolations Crash CartsExchange etc) at the direction of the SCM Supervisor.
- Ensures supplies returned to stock are appropriately transacted. 20% of time
Equipment Readiness and Distribution: 15% of time.
- Retrieves used/soiled equipment from designated holding areas throughout the hospital per the schedule provided by the SPD Supervisor.
- Prepares equipment for redistribution per the department SOP.
- Reports all damaged and unsafe equipment to the SPD Supervisor.
Other:
- Accounts for the processing of all charge tickets andpatient charge items.
- Participates in various committees as requested by theSPD Supervisor.
- Adheres to all departmental policies and procedures in the performance of duties.
- Treats all information received and processedconfidential.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor. 5% of time.

A. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge: - High School Diploma required. Previous experience in a hospital environment required.
Skills: - Good verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proficient with MS Office and general ERP (PMM preferred) applications.
Other: - Must possess initiative and be team oriented required.
- Actively supports the hospital and departments customer service and CQI goals.
