What this job involves:

Our graduate programme will provide you with first-hand experience while working towards a professional qualification.

Youll join us on a 24-month trainee programme and sit in our Tetris Projects team working as a main contractor. You will be working towards a Chartered Quantity Surveyor by completing the Quantity Surveying route for the Assessment of Professional Competency (APC). Alternatively if you join us without a Quantity Surveying degree you will work towards this qualification and your programme will be 2.5 years.

Quantity Surveyors provide expert advice on construction costs and provide commercial and procurement management including negotiating with clients and supplier as well as agreeing final accounts. You will eventually have full responsibility for the balance sheet of a project.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Youll get involved in real work from day one that will help clients achieve their ambitions
• Youll help research and calculate design and build costs to create budget estimates and agreed contract sum analyses which will form the contract sums both for client contracts and subcontracts
• Youll monitor project spend and help report on costs to ensure they are within budgets
• Youll visit sites to carry out site visits to check on project progress
• Youll help prepare reports and contract documents for clients
• Youll research and keep up to date with relevant market insight and legislation that may impact our work
• Youll build relationships across our business and with clients and suppliers to ensure we deliver a great service
• Youll take part in regular training in business skills technical knowledge and professional development to support your growth

Required Skills and Experience:

• GCSEs C / 4 grade or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Degree Ideally a RICS accredited Quantity Surveying degree
• Youll have an interest in the property and construction industries and how we can shape its future
• Youll be confident in working with numbers with strong attention to detail and approach work in a methodical way
• Youll be able to connect with others easily and build strong relationships
• Youll be eager to grow in the role and develop your skills with us
• Youll have a curious mindset so you can learn and grow with us
• Youll want to contribute your thoughts create fresh ideas and challenge yourself to do more than you think you could

Right to work in the UK:

• You will need to have permanent right to work in the UK with no time restrictions or limited working hours. Unfortunately we are unable to sponsor visas including Graduate Visas beyond the programme
