Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Operator/Programmer (Woodworking) to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC woodworking machinery strong programming skills and proficiency in AutoCAD Autodesk Inventor and Fusion 360 for design and toolpath generation. This role requires a balance of technical expertise problem-solving and precision to deliver high-quality wood components that meet design and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • CNC Programming & Operation

    • Create modify and optimize CNC programs using Fusion 360 Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

    • Set up and operate CNC woodworking machines (routers mills lathes etc.).

    • Select tools feeds and speeds appropriate for woodworking materials.

  • Design & Toolpath Development

    • Interpret technical drawings blueprints and CAD models to develop machining strategies.

    • Generate accurate toolpaths and simulate machining processes to ensure efficiency and quality.

    • Collaborate with design teams to refine models for manufacturability.

  • Production & Quality Control

    • Monitor machining processes to ensure accuracy quality and adherence to specifications.

    • Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers gauges templates).

    • Troubleshoot and resolve machining or programming issues.

  • Maintenance & Safety

    • Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure tools are in proper working condition.

    • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean organized workspace.

    • Document processes setups and production data for continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a CNC Operator/Programmer in woodworking or related field.

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Autodesk Inventor and Fusion 360.

  • Knowledge of woodworking materials (MDF hardwood plywood laminates etc.) and cutting techniques.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

  • Experience in CAM programming G-code generation and CNC setup.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with CNC routers and nesting software.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and process optimization.

  • Understanding of finishing techniques (sanding edging polishing).

Education & Experience
  • Diploma/Certificate in CNC Machining Wood Technology Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.

  • 2 5 years of experience in CNC woodworking operations and programming.
