Job Title: Histotechnologist

Duration: 1 year contract

Shift Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (may require occasional weekends holidays and overtime; no on-call duties)

License / Certifications:

• ASCP (HTL) Histotechnologist Certification (Required)
• BLS Certification (Preferred not mandatory)

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Health Sciences Medical Laboratory Technology Biology Microbiology Chemistry or related field (Required)
• Masters degree in related field (Preferred but not required)

Minimum Qualification/ Experience:

• 3 years of recent histology and cytology experience (Required)

Responsibilities:

• Perform grossing accessioning embedding cutting staining and cover-slipping of tissue specimens.
• Prepare special stains as requested by pathologists.
• Assist with frozen sections surgical specimens and autopsies.
• Maintain specimen integrity control processing conditions and ensure timely preparation.
• Serve as back-up morgue assistant when required.
• Ensure accurate patient/sample identification and safeguard patient information.
• Document and resolve specimen processing testing and reporting issues.
• Support quality assurance compliance and patient-centered care
