Job Summary:
This Registered Nurse position in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) requires providing skilled nursing care to pediatric patients. The role involves patient assessment medication administration treatment planning and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Experience in a PICU setting is mandatory. The position may require weekend work and floating between units.
Location: Lubbock Texas United States
Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
- Performing patient assessments administering medications and developing treatment plans.
- Collaborating with physicians other nurses and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and documenting observations.
- Responding to patient needs and emergencies.
- Maintaining accurate patient records.
- Floating to other units as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a PICU setting.
- Proficiency in clinical assessment medication administration and treatment planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing.
- Two or more years of experience in a PICU setting.
Special Considerations:
- Weekend work is required.
- Floating between units is required.
- No on-call requirements.
- Patient ratios are 1:2-1:3.
- This is a position in a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
Scheduling:
- Block scheduling is required.
- Shift type and specific schedule will be determined by the employer.
