Description
Basic Purpose:
Shape product experiences by creating useful meaningful content that helps users complete tasks effectively. Set the vision for content and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms and touchpoints. Manage the UX writing workflow ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are provided on time. Work independently with limited guidance on moderately complex projects. Contribute to the development and evolution of the user experience messaging strategy recommending solutions that align with brand tone and voice guidelines.
Responsibilities
Design write edit test and improve content that makes products easier to use and helps members achieve their goals across their journeys (e.g. product flows interface language emails push notifications educational materials product names navigation taxonomies and other content).
Develop and manage content strategies throughout the product lifecycle; influence decisions across products to improve overall experience ensuring messaging consistency and alignment with multiple business and member contexts.
Define and execute product-level messaging vision to deliver cohesive narratives across all digital touchpoints.
Apply storytelling and narrative techniques to enhance user experience in alignment with Navy Federals brand voice and tone.
Create and maintain content guidelines principles and best practices (voice/tone headers CTA buttons formatting emoji usage etc.).
Identify opportunities to establish and standardize messaging conventions.
Conduct content audits to identify gaps and areas for improved member experience and business performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners (product design research engineering marketing legal etc.) to ensure alignment.
Advocate for UX content best practices within the design team.
Research and analyze moderately complex messaging challenges; recommend solutions using clear and purposeful copy.
Originate new concepts strategies and innovative approaches to UX content design that have a measurable impact.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously prioritizing tasks based on timelines level of effort and project needs.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in English communications journalism or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Experience: 7 years in UX content design UX writing or content strategy.
Advanced project management skills including leading project teams managing resources and ensuring successful implementation.
Ability to lead mentor and guide peers.
Strong ability to communicate design concepts to diverse audiences including non-designers.
Advanced communication (verbal written and visual) detail orientation and organizational skills.
Strong analytical creative and critical thinking abilities.
Advanced knowledge of effective writing and editing practices.
Familiarity with user-centered design processes and best practices.
Working knowledge of development standards/technologies (HTML XHTML AJAX JavaScript CSS etc.).
Understanding of web mobile and application design best practices.
Knowledge of UX content best practices for web and mobile.
Preferred:
Masters degree in English communications journalism or a related field.
Knowledge of the financial services industry and products.
Human Factors Institute Certified Analyst credential.
