About the Role
The Senior Legal Officer works as a member of the Legal Team providing legal advice to assist the Department achieve its priorities across a range of portfolio functions including agriculture biosecurity fisheries forestry local land services mining mine safety and regional development.

Your responsibilities within this role may include:

  • Working closely with senior management to identify and manage legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Drafting and reviewing a range of documents and resources such as complex legal documents training tools contracts agreements and legislation.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with business areas to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Fostering strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.
  • Work health andsafety or native title and experience is highly desirable for some roles in the team.
