Job Description

E-Logic is seeking an experienced Wiring Technician to support the United States Air Force at Columbus AFB Mississippi. This role involves the engineering furnishing installation and testing (EFI&T) of upgraded Cat-6 premise wiring infrastructure for Buildings 1114 (B1114) and 348 (B348). It also includes removal of existing outdated wiring compliance with safety/environmental standards and ensuring seamless transition with minimal service disruption.


Responsibilities:


  • Remove and properly dispose of outdated premise wiring patch panels and termination hardware.
  • Install new Cat-6 plenum-rated cabling patch panels outlets/jacks (PANDUIT Mini Com per standards) cable trays and cable management systems.
  • Ensure structured cabling compliance with ANSI/TIA-568B and Columbus AFB wiring standards.
  • Provide and install Cat-6 patch cords for both network switches and user devices.
  • Designate an On-Site Point of Contact (POC) for communication with Government representatives.
  • Provide milestone schedules weekly status reports and chair Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings as required.
  • Conduct pre-test in-progress test and final cutover test plans; provide installation test reports.
  • Submit as-built drawings (Visio and PDF formats).
  • Label all installed equipment and cabling per Columbus AFB standards.
  • Provide warranty documentation and quality assurance plans.
  • Adhere to all Federal State and Air Force safety and environmental policies.
  • Maintain clean and hazard-free work areas.
  • Report and investigate accidents/incidents per Air Force safety procedures.
  • Restore all grounds/property to original or better condition upon project completion.

Requirements:


  • Demonstrated experience in structured cabling projects (Cat-6 or higher) for enterprise-level environments.
  • Knowledge of telecommunication installation standards (ANSI/TIA) and Air Force compliance requirements (AFSSI 7702 NSTISSAM Tempest/2-95).
  • Experience with cable tray installation bonding/grounding and patch panel integration.
