Good Samaritan Family Resource Center (GSFRC) is an innovative multi-service non-profit agency located in San Franciscos Mission District. Its mission is to help immigrant families access needed services develop self-sufficiency and participate fully as members of the community. Our staff is a diverse and talented team willing to take different and unique approaches to help children youth and families thrive and succeed.

Position Summary

Targeted to the support the needs of Latinx & newcomer students and families in SFUSD schools the Temporary Interim Latinx & Newcomer Services Site Coordinator will work in collaboration with school staff and community partners to coordinate and deliver essential support services to students and families while the permanent coordinator is on leave. Using a comprehensive approach to provide youth with academic coaching and support including individual learning plans one-one coaching cohort projects and collaborating with school admin/community coordinator/counseling/wellness offices to ensure program content complements school goals and initiatives. The Interim Latinx & Newcomer Services Site Coordinator will promote equity self-advocacy positive cultural identity formation healthy behaviors and self-care. This role requires approaching education and support services as a matter of social justice and acting in the best interests of the students and families we work with.

This position plans and coordinates the service strategy as follows - direct services delivery to students and families at school sites (75%) coordinating implementing a summer camp (15%) developing the implementation of community events workshops and trainings (10%).

Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development implementation and ongoing collaborative delivery of support services designed to meet the needs of Latinx and newcomer students and families.
  • One One Student Success Coaching and the development and cultivation of individualized learning plans.
  • Facilitation and Management of group and individual tutoring literacy intervention support. and/or study hall sessions.
  • Facilitation and Management of group and/or individual parent and family workshops.
  • Facilitate Good Sam Latinx & Newcomer Services programming with fidelity and in alignment with Good Sams Mission and Vision.
  • Communication and outreach to Students & families in collaboration with SFUSD personnel at site(s)
  • Develop and cultivate safe trusting nurturing supportive and collaborative relationships with clients community partners and SFUSD faculty.
  • Participate in a variety of case-related meetings at the agency school sites and multi-agency partners to develop appropriate goals and interventions for students and families.
  • Work closely with other Good Samaritan staff to develop and implement relevant services that address the interests and needs of students and their families.

Administrative

  • Create and maintain curricula for all classes and groups taught.
  • Create and maintain a monthly calendar of student and family-centric events.
  • Maintain and report proper measurements such as attendance surveys etc. to document impact.
  • Work with Program Manager & Director of Development to complete program proposals reports and requests for information.
  • Prepare and present monthly narrative and quantitative reports to document programs and services.
  • Ensure the maintenance of registrations/intakes consent forms and other administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with other community-based organizations to strengthen services available to students.
  • Coordinate on-going communication and feedback systems with participants families volunteers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in staff and related committee meetings and training.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND passed SFUSD District Instructional Aide Exam; OR High school diploma or equivalent AND passed CBEST; OR High school diploma or equivalent AND 48 college units (official transcripts required); OR Associate Degree or higher.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders including school personnel parents and students.
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting local San Franciso students & families.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and develop new and unique ways to improve student and family services and to create new opportunities.
  • Computer skills in Outlook Suite (Word Excel) databases (CMS/Salesforce) internet and e-mail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.


Preferred Qualifications

  • BA Degree (or equivalent years of experience) in Social Work Education Counseling or a related field.
  • Passionate leader that can motivate inspire and help schools to achieve positive outcomes for students and families.
  • Proven experience and success working with schools and Latinx students and families.
  • Experience/training in working with individuals affected by trauma.

Requirements

  • Must clear full background check (Department of Justice FBI Child Abuse Index).
  • Must have TB clearance
  • Candidates must go through a background check after a conditional offer is made.
  • Must have a valid California Drivers License and clean driving record.
