Job Description
Scopely is looking for a talented Accountant to join our team based in the Shanghai office.

Show us the money! As the Finance team were number crunchers with top-notch analytical and reporting skills. As a shared service we get to work with all of Scopelys talented studios.
What Youll Do
- Own general ledger processes in compliance with local GAAP US GAAP IFRS and group accounting policies for China and APAC region
- Assist with the month-end close schedules and records to ensure accuracy and timely reporting
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
- Process invoices and credit notes in timely and accurate manner including ensuring correct GL coding game coding fixed asset posting expense category VAT etc.
- Process staff expense claims and ensuring local China and APAC team members are using the correct expense category game coding etc.
- Manage invoice approval and prepare payment to ensure timely payment and recording
- Vendor Management (New vendor set up bank information supplier reconciliations checking terms and discounts etc.)
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and confirmations
- Maintain the fixed assets register including asset postings and monthly depreciation
- Collaborate with the Accounts Payable Procurement and T&E teams on reconciliations and discrepancy resolution
- Partner with external tax advisors and internal global Tax team to manage tax compliance and reporting in China and APAC region including annual corporate income tax consumption tax and VAT submission.
- Provide support during external and internal audits
- Manage external (bank tax government authorities) and internal stakeholders inquiries
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support business units with financial and accounting insights
- Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives and help with ad-hoc projects
What Were Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience in accounting and tax compliance in China and APAC region
- Proactive self-starter approach to recommend resolution
- Ability to work well with a team and autonomously at times
- Positive attitude to drive grow and be a contributor
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese. Proficiency in Japanese is a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial system
- Experience with an ERP system is desirable. Oracle Fusion is a plus
