Position Summary
The Utility Technician supports plant operations by performing maintenance troubleshooting and repair of utility systems including HVAC compressed air water steam and electrical distribution. This role ensures reliable operation of all utility equipment to maintain continuous production and facility efficiency. The Utility Technician will also assist in preventive maintenance programs equipment installation and emergency response for utility-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor maintain and repair utility systems including boilers chillers compressors cooling towers pumps and water treatment equipment.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical electrical and control issues with utility systems.
Support installation startup and commissioning of new utility equipment.
Document maintenance activities inspections and repairs in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Ensure compliance with safety environmental and regulatory standards in all utility operations.
Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
Collaborate with maintenance engineering and production teams to improve reliability and efficiency.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend upgrades or process enhancements.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance HVAC or utilities preferred.
2 years of experience in utility systems maintenance or industrial maintenance environment.
Working knowledge of mechanical electrical and control systems for utilities.
Familiarity with boilers chillers compressors pumps and related equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals schematics and blueprints.
Strong troubleshooting problem-solving and organizational skills.
Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance software (CMMS).
Willingness to work rotating shifts weekends and respond to emergency calls as needed.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
Pay: $27.00-$30.00/hr
