Job Summary

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Laboratory Technician who shares our passion for quality medicine for patients who need them. The Laboratory Technician assists with operating the facilitys extraction equipment utilizing processing protocols and strategy and day to day production. The Laboratory Technician assists the extraction department through the activities required to manufacture store maintain and procure all equipment and materials necessary to run a world-class laboratory.

FLSA status:Non-exempt

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour

Full Time M-F

Major Areas of Responsibility include:

  • Operates all equipment safely and efficiently including the grinding mill rotovap and other processing apparatuses.
  • Assists with refining distilling isolating combining capturing terpenes coordinating inventory analyzing potency and performing microbial tests.
  • Follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) guidelines and applicable government regulations in the industry.
  • Accurately weighs labels and stores materials and identify and report any deviations.
  • Manages inventory of raw materials and record data management software platforms.
  • Develops and updates SOPs to ensure safety quality and process control.
  • Understands and safely handles hazardous materials and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Performs corrective and preventative maintenance on associated equipment.
  • Monitors and manages lab and processing supplies.
  • Contributes toward an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
  • Works as part of a team to coordinate and meet production schedules and support new product and process development.
  • Exemplifies good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Skills Knowledge & Abilities):

  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Associates degree in a science discipline preferred not required (biology chemistry or chemical engineering etc.).
  • 1-3 years experience in pharmaceutical food beverage and/or cannabis industries.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and inventory tracking systems experience.
  • Good math and conversion skills.
  • Background in natural product extraction (closed loop extraction systems to include ethanol essential oil extraction etc.) desired.
  • Comfortable handling confidential information.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn and improve.
  • Availability to work occasional weekends and holidays.
  • Some travel may be required for training purposes.
  • Must have a valid drivers license or State ID card.
  • Must pass all required background checks.

Additional Abilities Required:

  • The job requires physical activity including prolonged standing repetitive bending climbing and lifting or moving up to 50 pounds (or more with a coworker). Good visual acuity hand-eye coordination manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive motions with accuracy is required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
