Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to students with moderate to severe disabilities ages 321. The teacher will lead IEP teams design curriculum and behavioral strategies aligned with student needs and ensure progress toward data-driven goals. This role requires collaboration with parents staff and specialists as well as the ability to adapt general education curriculum in both resource and self-contained settings.
What Youll Do:
- Deliver direct instruction in classroom small group and one-on-one settings.
- Select implement and adjust teaching strategies to support student IEP goals.
- Conduct assessments for eligibility placement and progress monitoring.
- Develop and facilitate IEPs organize and lead meetings and document progress online.
- Adapt and modify general education curriculum for special education students.
- Provide supervision training and evaluations for paraeducators and classified staff.
- Implement and monitor individual and classroom behavior management plans.
- Maintain accurate lesson plans data collection and student progress reports.
- Communicate with parents staff and students on academic behavioral and transition goals.
- Ensure a safe supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Experience Youll Need:
- Valid Washington teaching certificate with K12 Special Education endorsement (or eligibility).
- Experience writing individualized curriculum and implementing IEPs.
- Knowledge of behavior management program development and execution.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with parents staff and administrators.
- Ability to use computer technology for documentation and data collection.
