Job Summary

THIS IS A LEAVE REPLACEMENT POSITION FOR THE 2025/2026 SCHOOL YEAR ONLY

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING NEEDED:

  • Hold a valid Washington State Educator Staff Associate Certificate with a Speech Language Pathology endorsement
  • Major in communication disorders
  • Possess assessment skills in speech language and voice disorders
  • Demonstrated successful therapy experience in a variety of educational settings and possess organizational skills necessary to set up classes and deliver therapy in various schools
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized therapy based on identified deficits
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with parents/guardians and to communicate the implementation of services
  • Write and manage Individual Educational Plans complete all required documentation paperwork and forms and meet all deadlines
  • Possess personal flexibility to deal with students needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other speech language pathologists occupational therapists physical therapists and other specialists serving the students
  • Ability to manage and work with support staff
  • Experience and/or training with cultural ethnic and language diversity desired
  • Knowledge of and skills in using effective strategies and practices for a wide range of student needs and abilities including culturally responsive teaching
  • Ability to work successfully with diverse learners providing access and opportunities for all students
  • Ability to effectively address a wide range of academic social and developmental needs including at-risk cultural diversity physical disabilities English language learners and special education students
  • Demonstrated awareness of equity; specifically focused on ways that race language gender and disability intersect in our activity and athletic access and participation
  • Ability to speak write or teach in a language other than English (Spanish Mixteco Ukrainian Russian Marshallese American Sign Language) preferred
  • Ability to operate a computer and learn the operation of specific software programs
  • Ability to assess and evaluate student progress and achievement
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Ability to process information to make sound judgments and decisions
  • Consultswithteachersadministratorsandothereducationalspecialistsonindividual studentsregardinginterventionandpreventionstrategies
  • Maintainandinputaccuratestudentrecordsinthestudentinformationsystem
  • Works cooperatively with total building staff in an atmosphere of cooperation and collegiality
  • Implement and comply with District policies and the Code of Professional Conduct
  • Participates in team and individual instructional planning
  • Facilitates and participate in staff meetings planning events
  • Attends building and district meetings and conferences as required
  • Complies with school and administrative policies state statute and ethical standards of the speech language pathology profession
  • Maintains consistent attendance and conforms to regular work hours specified under contract
  • Fulfills other duties as assigned by the supervisor
