12-Day Rotating Shift Pattern Full-Time - Permanent
Are you a skilled engineer ready to take on a dynamic field-based role in the rail freight sector
Join a team that keeps the UKs freight wagons moving with precision safety and speed. As an On-Call Fitter youll respond to urgent call-outs perform scheduled maintenance and ensure wagons are safe reliable and ready for action.
What Youll Do:
Diagnose and repair faults on freight wagons
Respond to emergencies including derailments and brake issues
Carry out inspections and scheduled maintenance
Support technical operations during on-call hours
Collaborate with terminal staff and train operators
Qualifications :
What Youll Bring:
NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Full UK driving licence
Fault-finding and repair experience
Strong communication and IT skills
Willingness to work unsociable hours and travel
Desirable Extras:
HNC/HND or NVQ Level 4
Knowledge of brake systems couplers and running gear
PTS or equivalent site access certification
Additional Information :
Full training (1216 weeks) tools and PPE provided.
Work in a supportive team of two during on-call shifts.
