Job Purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for dynamic results driven individual to join as a Manager Supply Chain.
The Manager Supply Chain will be responsible for managing Procurement Excellence within PDS Global Supply Management that requires a focus on optimizing the procurement process to drive value reduce costs mitigate risks and align with the overall organizational objectives of BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead benchmarking activities within BorgWarner focused on Procurement Excellence cross-BU
- Focus on enhancements to existing GSM processes and in some cases developing processes that dont exist e.g. Global Sourcing Board Launch Management and Cost Estimation
- Work with others within PDS to maintain and enhance system tools including SPS Ivalua SAP and Supplier Risk Management
- Focused on process automation making things easier and more efficient in GSMs global processes
- Work with PDS Finance on enhancement of PDS forecasting and budgeting process improvements
- Proactively work with systems and tools to predict financially distress supply situations using tools such as pressure test
- When necessary create action plans which may include going onsite to already distressed suppliers working with them to mitigate their impact on BorgWarners product supply
- Successfully manage through supplier bankruptcy situations
- Provide training to new GSM colleagues as needed
- Lead / execute special projects with the global GSM organization
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering/Business Management required
- 8 plus years of purchasing or program management experience working in an automotive production purchasing/GSM environment required
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred
- Experience working as member of a team with team leader skills
- Program Management Skills
- Critical Analysis Skills
- Excellent Negotiation Skills
- Strong Interpersonal Skills - Position interacts with all levels of BorgWarner/Supplier Management
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint Lotus Notes eRFQ Web based Intranet Systems MRP systems knowledge preferred
- Must be self-motivated/directed; required to determine most if not all of own work assignments both tactical and strategic so requires minimal management input to achieve objectives
