As a Loss Mitigation Specialist your role willbe to preserve Credit Union assets by minimizing loss and maximizingrecoveries.
This is a full-time position at 40 hours/week. Shifts for this role will generally fall between 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. Some flexibility may be necessary to accommodate business needs.
Salary Range: $25.00 - $27.00/hour.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Reach out to members with delinquent accounts including negative shares via phone email and text. Work directly with members to create and implement payment plans to help bring the account current.
- Analyze the financial situation of members with delinquent loans. When efforts are deemed unsuccessful make recommendations to repossess collateral.
- Maintain accurate files and reports for collection activity.
- Collect on assigned delinquent accounts expel members for negative share accounts and process and manage all garnishments and levies.
- Maintain current knowledge of collection regulations and processes along with underwriting trends that lead to delinquent or charge off loans.
- Investigate member disputes and update applicable systems for accurate credit reporting
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution building relationships and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills Talks to others to convey information effectively. Communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Maintains confidentiality related to Credit Union operations and work-related information. Computer operating systems; e.g. Microsoft Windows
