The Avionics Summer Engineering Project Program (SEPP) is our elite summer studentship established in 1995. Business relevant projects from various directorates are selected to support research on campus partnerships and introduce students to engineering rigor and challenges. During the summer interns will work with their manager and technical mentor to define a projectplan and reach scoped milestones.
Were looking for a talented intern to join SEPP in order to support the development of next generation optical test methodology for our transparent displays and enhanced vision systems. The project will involve test station design software controls and image processing.
What You Will Do:
- Test station design and software development to angularly calibrate cameras and photometers
- Assemble and test an optical testbench
- Work on a collaborative team with a partner intern mentors and other engineers
- Prepare and present project efforts to a larger audience of engineers
- Present at an internal Collins Aerospace Technology Fair
What You Will Learn
- Optical test methods and calibration of optical devices
- Camera and theodolite calibration
- Optical tolerance analysis
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelors or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen permanent resident or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: We Prefer:
- Enrolled in a Systems Engineering Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or other relevant engineering degree program
- Experience with lab testing
- Experience with 3D printing
- Experience with MATLAB

The salary range for this role is 37000 USD - 82000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
