Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cognos Developer with 5 to 7 yrs of strong expertise in IBM Cognos Analytics including report and dashboard development system configuration Cognos Framework and UI administration. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience working with DB2 z/OS and Oracle databases to deliver robust business intelligence solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Cognos Development:
- Design develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Cognos Report Studio Workspace and Analytics.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and BI solutions.
- Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy.
Database Integration:
- Connect to and query data fromDB2 z/OSandOracledatabases.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
- Ensure seamless data integration across multiple sources.
Cognos Administration:
- PerformCognos system configuration including installation upgrades and patching.
- Manage user roles permissions and security settings.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
Cognos UI Administration:
- Customize and manage the Cognos Analytics user interface.
- Configure navigation themes and portal pages to enhance user experience.
- Support user onboarding and training on UI features.
Implementation & Support:
- Lead or support BI solution implementations and enhancements.
- Collaborate with business analysts data engineers and stakeholders.
- Document technical processes and provide end-user support.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field.
- 8 years of experience in Cognos report/dashboard development and administration.
- Strong SQL skills and experience withDB2 z/OSandOracledatabases.
- Experience with Cognos Framework Manager and data modeling.
- Familiarity with Cognos Analytics UI customization and administration.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Cognos Analytics (latest versions).
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Exposure to other BI tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau) is a plus.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
