Job Summary: Responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the McKee Veteran Success Center. Coordinates and administers all TU Veteran Affairs activities and oversee all aspects of all financial aid programs and educational funding through the Veterans Administration (VA) to ensure that Veteran and Military-Connected students receive all entitled educational benefits. Serves as the University of Tulsas senior School Certifying Official ( SCO ) ensuring accurate entry and certification of VA educational beneficiary information into appropriate government websites to ensure timely receipt of VA benefit payments to students and the university. Serves as an advocate for Veteran and Military-Connected students while serving as a resource to leverage key support services across the university and Veteran service community. Ensures compliance with all federal state and college regulations. Essential Functions (Responsibilities): Manages the VA Work Study students. Oversees all aspects of educational funding through the VA to ensure Veteran and Military-Connected students receive all entitled educational benefits. Coordinates with the University Bursars office and Financial Aid office to ensure proper disbursement of refunds and appropriate credits for all Veteran and Military-Connected Students from the VA. Maintains files and records for students receiving VA educational assistance in accordance with VA guidance and best practices. Maintains accreditation with the Oklahoma Department of Veteran Affairs-State Accrediting Agency to ensure Veteran and Military-Connected students receive all entitled educational benefits. Manages the Calvin C. Mckee endowment and other donations according to donor requirements and governmental regulations. Link expenditures to the achievement of annual objectives and key performance indicators for the McKee Veterans Success Center. Identifies and cultivates a network of military-friendly employers and contacts who can act as hiring champions for Veteran and Military-Connected students/alumni. Provide advocacy and guidance to Veteran Students while serving as a resource for key University and Veteran support services. Identifies and attends training and network opportunities (i.e. seminars workshops and conferences) necessary to sustain a highly effective level of knowledge concerning Veteran and Military-Connected student resources counseling best practices and available Veteran-specific resources etc. Serves as the primary staff advisor for the University of Tulsa Student Veterans Association ( TUSVA ) providing organizational support and guidance for event planning and resource allocation. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Knowledge/Skill/Ability In depth knowledge of VA educational benefits. Strong analytical ability to interpret and use complex data logical and data-driven work style. Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment drive projects to completion and act with a sense of urgency. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the company. A collaborative team player who can coordinate work effectively with University leadership employees students veterans and local Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs). Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. High attention to detail demonstrated practice of establishing effective priorities and meeting deadlines. Strong customer service with a can-do attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands
This is an onsite position with some travel related to professional development and recruitment. Requires face-to-face interactions with faculty staff students donors and prospective students and their families.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Equivalent Education/Experience Bachelors Degree Required. Exceptions may be made for significant experience (10 years) working specifically with the Veterans Benefits Administration ( VBA ) and/or the veteran population at institutions of higher learning ( IHL ). Must have 3 years of experience working with Veterans Service Members and Military-Connected dependents from any branch. Proven experience showcasing the ability to operate within complex government regulations ability to balance multiple priorities and work independently.

Masters Degree; Progressive leadership career path with experience within an educational management context
