Position Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for installing maintaining troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role supports both production and facility operations by ensuring electrical systems operate safely reliably and efficiently. The Electrical Technician works closely with maintenance engineering and operations teams to minimize downtime and improve system performance.
Key Responsibilities
Install maintain and repair electrical systems controls and equipment across the plant.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on motors drives control panels and wiring.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues to reduce downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Support equipment installations modifications and upgrades.
Read and interpret electrical diagrams blueprints and technical manuals.
Ensure compliance with all electrical codes company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Assist in training operators and maintenance personnel on proper equipment usage and safety practices.
Collaborate with engineers and project teams on new equipment commissioning.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process or equipment upgrades.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree technical certification or apprenticeship in electrical technology preferred.
3 years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems including PLCs VFDs motors and control systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Proficient with troubleshooting tools and electrical testing equipment.
Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) OSHA and industry safety practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Willingness to work rotating shifts weekends and respond to emergency calls as needed.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
Pay: $27.00-$30.00/hr
