Job Description

Corporate Services (Audit) Assistant Manager Cambridge

We have an opportunity within our Audit team in Cambridge for an Assistant Manager who is recently ICAEW/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience. We are also open to considering applications from UK practice candidates in the final stages of ICAEW/ACCA studies who are seeking to complete their professional training within an alternative practice. Study support will be considered where applicable.

About the team

The Corporate Services team provides a wide range of audit and assurance services including audits of Limited company accounts (UK GAAP and IFRS) LLPs charity and Not-for-Profit accounts.

The client portfolio covers businesses of all sizesfrom small enterprises to groups turning over several hundred million poundsincluding OMBs subsidiaries of international groups charities pension schemes and LLPs. Clients are based locally across the UK and internationally providing exposure to a broad and diverse mix of work.

The role

The type of work you undertake will depend on your experience and skills but this role provides real scope to develop your expertise.

  • Lead on small audit jobs and assist on larger audit assignments (approx. 65% of the role).
  • Prepare accounts and provide support on corporation tax matters for a variety of businesses.

Essential skills

  • Proven background in Audit within a UK practice and experience of direct client contact.
  • ICAEW/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience).

  • Working knowledge of corporation tax is helpful.

  • Good knowledge of audit planning and accounts preparation under UK GAAP.

  • Experience with CCH Accounts Software (or similar).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Team-oriented self-motivated flexible and willing to travel occasionally.
