Job Summary
Manufacturing Process Engineer responsibilities include:- Review and provide feedback on design/design intent of components and assemblies.- Set standard manufacturing practices and independently determine impact to design and parameters to the final product. - Partner with internal and external cross functional teams to evaluate design and processes at concept phase and set expectations for manufacturing processes.- Develop new and/or improved processes for parts and assemblies through the application of theoretical and practical engineering. - Drive corrective actions cross-functionally with internal and external team members.- Drive design experiments to prove out manufacturing processes or design iterations.- Design for Manufacturability - Provide early and on going manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable. - Process Engineering - Design and develop technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency- Present technical issues and updates to Apple management team and cross functional team on a frequent basis- Provide creative solutions for engineering challenges or issues related to assembly process- International travel to supplier sites up to 30%
- 3 years experience in process development/bring up and qualification
- BS (MS preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Program/project management experience
- Manufacturing or supplier management experience
- Working knowledge of GD&T and Engineering Drawing Interpretation
- Design of Experiments statistical process control methods and theory
- Good command of Excel and JMP
- Knowledge of Metrology design and Optical/Contact Measurement Equipment is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Mandarin or Korean language skills are a plus but not required
