Job Summary
The University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work invites applications for three Academic Professional Track positions (non-tenure) at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice. Candidates will be expected to teach online and in-person at the Arlington Fort Worth and UTA West campuses. The position is based on campus at UT Arlington. This position is expected to start 9/1/26. Faculty in these roles are deeply engaged with students alumni and the community and play a vital role in preparing students for the realities of social work practice while also contributing to service and innovation within the School and community. We are particularly interested in hiring faculty who will enhance our teaching capabilities in the following areas: 1. BSW and MSW Programs: Behavioral Health; Substance Misuse/Addictions; Children Youth & Families; Health; Aging; and Macro Community & Administrative Practice 2. DSW Program: Applying practice expertise and scholarship to teach across the DSW curriculum specifically in research areas (e.g. paradigms of inquiry qualitative and quantitative methods capstone mentorship) leadership (e.g. entrepreneurship grant writing program evaluation) and education (e.g. educational policy pedagogy practicum supervision).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
A Doctorate in Social Work ( DSW ) a PhD in social work or a doctorate in a related field A Master of Social Work ( MSW ) degree from a CSWE -accredited program A minimum of two years post- MSW practice experience Successful teaching experience in a university setting as evidenced in teaching evaluation Capacity to teach across multiple course topics and program levels ( BSW MSW and/or DSW ) Ability to teach via various instructional delivery methods in-person virtual/online and hybrid.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at the DSW level and/or mentoring doctoral students Expertise to teach and develop courses in the areas of: behavioral health substance misuse/addictions children youth and families health aging macro community and administrative practice research leadership and/or education.
