The Opportunity

Are you ready to shape the future of power equipment design Hitachi Energy is seeking a visionary Lead Developer Design Systems Architect to join our Tool Development team supporting one of the lead factories in the Hitachi Group. This is your chance to drive innovation in the liquid-immersed transformer business by developing cutting-edge design systems that align with global standards factory infrastructure and strategic business goals.

Based in Raleigh NC or Jefferson City MO this hybrid role offers the opportunity to collaborate with global teams influence product development and contribute to the transformation of engineering and manufacturing processes. If youre passionate about software architecture electrical and mechanical systems and making a real impactthis is the role for you.

How Youll Make an Impact

  • Architect and develop software aligned with technical standards and business needs
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to validate new technologies
  • Analyze software behavior and define expected outcomes
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to test and refine design tools
  • Support and improve technical standards and material specifications
  • Identify and close technology gaps to enhance product development
  • Coordinate bug tracking and resolution with developers and users
  • Drive innovation through optimization routines and strategic growth initiatives
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines

Your Background

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Mechanical or Software Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in software development preferably in transformer design
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming ( C# Java C or Python)
  • Familiarity with relational databases (MSSQL Oracle PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with software lifecycle tools like Azure and GitHub
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams
