Job Summary
Project Manager Director (Director of Project Management)
Direct Hire
Shift / Hours: Monday-Friday with flexible hours between 7am and 6pm. (Committed to 8 hours a day.) In-office position.
Salary Range:$100000.00 to $120000.00 DOE
General Summary:
The Director of Project Management is responsible for ensuring the project management department runs efficiently and successfully. This person develops and directs project management operations and strategic planning to meet company goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages coaches and develops the departments 7 Project Managers.
- Make hiring decisions for department as well as make recommendations on promotions and salary increases.
- Plans long range coordination in terms of capabilities manpower budgets and objectives within Project Management Department
- Ensure all team members are trained and up to date on current processes and procedures and software.
- Assigns projects and workload forecasting future needs and ensuring needs of team are being supported. Delegate tasks and internal projects as needed.
- Acts as the subject matter expert for team
- Monitors work in progress to ensure deadlines are being met and documents meet company standards
- Reviews project schedules and forecasts with department managers project managers and shop personnel as needed
- Maintains the production departments calendar and panel forecast charts for budgeting and shop production works with Head of Production to manage fabrication schedules and production levels within operations
- Collaborate with sales and estimating teams to bid projects appropriately
- Partner with Sales and Estimators to turn projects over to team members when PO is received; ensure clarity in scope and requirements provide input when appropriate assist with identifying risks and potential solutions
- Serves in a design assist role with architects and customers
- Partner with other departments to achieve company goals
- Acts as the main resource for problem solving or sounding board for opinions from the project management team
- Engage with customers as needed to resolve issues if project necessitates it
- Additional responsibilities as necessary
Skills/Knowledge Needed:
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong people management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings as well as specifications
- Proficient in general construction knowledge
- Attention to detail
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Solid experience with Bluebeam AutoCAD and Revit
- Continuous improvement: ask questions and continually learn and adapt to changes in industry
Qualifications / Experience Needed:
- 7 years of management experience required
- 5 years of experience in a construction-related field
- 5 years working with architectural drawings
- 5 years of experience with using Bluebeam AutoCAD and Revit
- Must have experience in project management.
- **Criminal Background Check Required.
