JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Opportunity
The position of Research Associate 2 in San Diego CA executes preclinical scientific research or development in collaboration with others for projects.
M-Th: 2:00pm-12:00am
What Youll Work On:
Abletoconductindependentresearchwithguidanceonmoderatelycomplexproblems.Expectedtoadequatelydifferentiate/explaintheirresearch/experiments.Regularlyperformstechnicalexperimentsstudiesandassessesoutcomesobtainsguidanceonnewprocedures;buildingtechnicalproficiency
Withinitialguidanceexercisestechnicaldiscretioninthedesignexecutionandinterpretationofexperiments.Expectationsareincumbentsintheroleareabletoindependentlydeterminethemethodsandapproachestoachievetheirwork. Worksonmoderatelycomplexprograms;obtainsguidancefornewprocedures
UnderinitialguidancePerformsscientificworkandavarietyoflaboratoryproceduresrequiringapplicationofstandardtechniquesproceduresmethodsandcriteriaincarryingoutasequenceofrelatedscientifictasks.Conductsexperimentsandinterpretsdata.
Performresearchrelatedtoimprovingandexpandingcoretechnologycapabilities;conductsexperimentstooptimizesamplepreparation.Optimizesdetectionapproachescoupledtotheassaycoretechnology;Analyzeexperimentalresultsandprovidewrittenreports;
Isexpectedtodetectproblemsindependentlyinusingstandardizationproceduresbecauseoftheconditionofthesampledifficultieswiththeequipmentetc.proposesandimplementssolutionstolesscomplexproblems;asexperiencedisgainedabletoproposeandsolvemoremoderatelycomplexproblemsindependently.
Learnsandappliesnewknowledgetoparticipateinroutinemaintenanceandlabsafety.
Isabletopreparetechnicalreports;experimentaldocumentation;Abletoindependentlydocumentscientificdata/experimentsandrelatedQualitysystems;requirescriticalthinkingandjudgement. Withguidancecandevelopinitialdraftsforprotocolsandreports.
Required Qualifications
Education
BachelorsDegree( 16years)
B.Sinbiologicalorphysicalsciencesormathematics
Experience/Background
3 years of experience
Limited or no industry/diagnostic experience
Practical Lab Skills
Competent ability in mathematics and computer literacy; good organizational skills; solid problem solving skills and improves with greater experience
Good knowledge of science and the ability to apply basic principles and techniques
Accountability/ Scope: Tasks and duties assigned
IVD experience preferred
