Roles and Responsibilities
- Support GSI and the region goals for orders and CM targets for HVDC Projects in defined geographies
- Be an active member of the GSI commercial organization
- Coordination of the regional commercial and product teams enhancing sales capabilities and formulizing/ executing business intelligent processes for HVDC projects
- Develop and support strategy and target costing as well as forecast management for specific HVDC projects opportunities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to HVDC Product Delivery Group to deliver on-time and high-quality tender submissions and subsequent clarification responses
- Identify resources to support HVDC tender preparation and submission
- Lead HVDC deal reviews/ approvals in accordance with underlying delegation of authority
- Responsible for ITO Policy process compliance including risk management process rigor and compliance
- Facilitate regional and HQ R-reviews and deal approvals for HVDC projects
- Provide hands-on leadership for critical HVDC deals
- Support and drive the final deal negotiation process and if necessary lead the final customer negotiations in conjunction with the sales team
- Lead and support the development of a high performing ITO tender team by attracting and training the right talent
- Enhance the commercial expertise (across the entire sales and Commercial Operations teams) by developing and implementing formal training programs and by tactical and strategic deal support
- Manage and improve regional operating metrics such as productivity proposal throughput/ yield cost accuracy or cycle time measures
- Manage the regional commercial operations workload drive common commercial processes
- Ensure compliance integrity and EHS standards are met
- Ensure continuous & effective communication amongst all stakeholders
- Drive global initiatives such as ITO improvements bid prioritization or delegation of authorities
Qualifications
- Masters or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years experience in HVDC projects is essential
- Manage HVDC project from entire early-phase process from technical specification and contract terms to bid evaluation negotiation and contract signing leading to project launch is essential
- Led strategic planning for HVDC project development including government/agency; coordinate technical specification development and project scheduling is essential
- Able to review and propose contract model improvements reflecting HVDC market trends
- Experience in leading the preparation of technical and commercial proposal for HVDC projects

- Significant & relevant experience in sales commercial operations risk or marketing
- Strong presentation skills
- Have a clear understanding of the commercial levers for contractual obligation (and how to manage them over the duration of the contract)
- Ability to direct complex daily activity of multiple work streams focused on issue resolution
- A good understanding of contract management principles the ability to manipulate and shape deals and formulate
- Ability to form relationships that facilitates viable client solutions.
