Job Description

Job Title: HR Specialist Remote

Location: Remote - Ohio Based (EST time Zone required)

Overview
A mid-sized healthcare organization is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist to join its Human Resources team. This position will play a key role in supporting employees and managers across the organization with a primary focus on employee relations benefits administration and onboarding. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted resource for staff helping ensure compliance with policies and fostering a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee relations issues providing guidance coaching and support to managers and employees.

  • Conduct investigations into workplace concerns and recommend appropriate solutions in alignment with company policies and employment law.

  • Oversee benefits administration including enrollments changes and employee questions related to health dental vision and other plans.

  • Manage onboarding processes for new hires including offer letters background checks orientation scheduling and employee paperwork.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within HR systems.

  • Partner with payroll to ensure benefit deductions and employment changes are processed correctly.

  • Support HR compliance with federal and state regulations including FMLA ADA and EEO requirements.

  • Assist in the development and delivery of HR communications training materials and policy updates.

  • Participate in projects aimed at improving HR processes employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role preferably within healthcare or a highly regulated industry.

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices employment law and benefits administration.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.

  • Experience managing employee relations cases conducting investigations and supporting managers through performance management.

  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while staying connected to the HR team and organizational priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.

  • Experience supporting remote or multi-state workforces.

  • Prior experience with healthcare benefits or large group plans.
