Within our European Sustainability Operation team in Europa which is part of the global Sustainability Operations that drives Collection & Recycling across 8 regions globally we are right now looking for a new college. As Head of Sustainability East Europe you will lead a team of sustainability professionals and drive the development and execution of value-creating strategies projects and initiatives within Collection & Recycling. You will be responsible for translating European sustainability strategy into actionable regional plans ensuring performance and measurable impact across East European markets.
You will lead the engagement and expansion of Tetra Paks participation in Packaging Recovery Organizations (PROs) both regulatory and voluntary and anticipate evolving requirements from regulators and customers regarding recycling and recyclability. You will also oversee EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) fees and related financial investments across markets with a focus on cost optimization and value creation.
Preferred location of the position is Warsaw but other East European offices can be considered.
The position reports to the Sustainability Director Europe. Travelling up to approximately 50% is required for this role.
What you will do
Drive deployment of the European sustainability strategy in East Europe through effective planning and execution of Collection & Recycling initiatives
Lead and manage a team of regional sustainability professionals ensuring successful delivery on KPIs and high team engagement
Ensure follow-up and validation of action plans to improve the value chain for collection sorting and recycling of post-consumer packaging
Develop and lead relationships with PROs and industry associations in collaboration with third parties including customers and competitors
Define plan and implement end-market opportunities for recycled materials and drive successful partnerships and innovation in this area
Monitor and optimize EPR fees and related contributions to enhance cost and value chain performance efficiency across the region
Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory discussions on collection and recycling
We believe you have
University degree in relevant field eg. BA Engineering or Sustainability.
Strong business acumen and financial understanding and ability and willingness to learn about recycling technologies and operations.
It is seen as a benefit if you already have experience from being a technical recycling specialist / experience from related industry.
Strong interpersonal skills and strong skills in work across geographies and cross-functional.
Excellent leadership team development and people management skills.
Strong track record of managing complex projects / initiatives.
Open to new ideas and updated on latest development externally in own field of expertise.
High proficiency in English language both written and verbal is required and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.
Its necessary that you have a passion for sustainability and willingness to go the extra mile to make a positive impact.
Driving license for external visits.
As a person you are dynamic and structured a leader with the ability to translate strategy into impactful actions. You can work on strategic level and take ownership of valuable execution of plans and projects. You have excellent communication skills equally adaptable in English written/verbal communication and presentation situations.
You are good at engaging people on all levels and build valuable relationships within your field externally and internally in other words you have excellent people management skills.
Furthermore you can demonstrate strength in analysing data and formulating recommendations that turns into valuable actions. Your strong project management skills help you to effectively support your team and the organization in achieving defined targets.
