ING in Asia Pacific

In Asia Pacific ING offers wholesale banking across 11 markets namely Australia China Hong Kong SAR India Indonesia Japan the Philippines Singapore South Korea Taiwan and Vietnam.

ING offers both retail and wholesale banking services in Australia. INGs regional presence includes a 13% stake in Bank of Beijing China and a 30% stake in TMBThanachart Bank in Thailand.

Singapore is the regional headquarters for INGs Wholesale Banking (WB) business in Asia which includes all WB business lines such as Financial Markets Strategic Products Sectors Lending and Transaction Services and other support functions.

What does the Human Resources People Services Team do in ING

The People Services team in Human Resources focusses on the day-to-day governance and delivery of HR services to our staff ranging from onboarding through the lifecycle of the employee journey.

What would you be doing

As an intern you will provide support to the People Services function in all HR risk administration related matters.

The work will cover HR services for the Asia region such as;

  • Support the People Services team in the administration and management of HR Systems and Processes across Tier 1 and Tier 2 activities across employee queries onboarding off boarding and other events in the HR lifecycle

  • Assist with driving the review the maintenance and documentation of HR related operating procedures and policies as required

  • Support HR projects such as HR Administration efficiency and onboarding projects for ING Asia

  • Perform some HR reporting

What qualities and skills are we looking for

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria:

  • You should have legal work rights in the country of internship.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable with handling large volumes of information

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Able to visualize and understand the end to end of a process

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint etc.)

  • Reasonable level of savviness with IT to use HR systems and data to be efficient in work

  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Resourceful and willingness to learn

  • Previous internship in HR or a major in HR would be of added value

What would you gain from this internship

Real world hands on experience with day-to-day HR administration activities in the banking and financial services industry plus witness the migration of tasks to globalized HR processes and systems.
