Job Description
We are seeking a Data Security Analyst Intern II to support cybersecurity operations and data protection initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills a passion for cybersecurity and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing data security incidents: Investigate and analyze potential security incidents using Crowdstrike and other technologies. Identify root cause impact and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Support incident response efforts: Participate in incident containment evidence gathering and forensic analysis to ensure timely response.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments: Perform regular assessments of critical systems and applications identify weaknesses and recommend remediation.
- Monitor and analyze security events: Review logs alerts and reports to detect potential threats and unusual activity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: Work with internal teams and partners to gather requirements and implement security controls.
- Documentation and reporting: Contribute to incident reports SOPs security guidelines and periodic risk/security assessments.
- Stay updated: Research new tools frameworks and emerging threats to strengthen the security posture.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Security or related field (3 years academic experience).
- Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python PowerShell or Bash).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Familiarity with organizational SOPs approvals and review processes.
Preferred Skills
- Strong interest in data security incident response and threat intelligence.
- Familiarity with Crowdstrike and other cybersecurity tools.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new security technologies and methodologies.
- Basic understanding of networking protocols operating systems and core security concepts.
Work Schedule & Location
- Hybrid Role: Onsite in Austin TX with flexibility for remote work.
- Business Hours: Monday Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (occasional evenings/weekends/holidays as needed).
- Estimated Hours: Up to 960 hours total (Part-Time).
