Job title: Smiley Professional Events (Pro Events) Assistant Anderson Classroom-to-Career Center.
Start date: Sept. 2 2025
Hours:
- Ten hours/week while training during first month; 20 hours/week once trained.
- Weekly schedule will vary depending on Pro Events schedule; will include occasional early-evening hours.
Pay: $15/hour.
Requirements:
- 3.25 overall GPA*; Accounting Business Data Analytics or Economics major.
- *A faculty reference may be substituted for GPA requirement.
- Familiarity with and enthusiasm for Pro Events program.
- Able to make a commitment through at least May 2026.
Important attributes:
- Flexibility punctuality and reliability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines within tight timeframes.
- Initiative to identify possible additions and improvements to Pro Events programs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with professional-level attention to detail.
Position description:
- Be a strong positive contributing member of the Pro Events and Anderson Center teams.
- Promote events via social media posters and short presentations.
- Interact with guest speakers including alumni and business representatives.
- Suggest ideas for new events and speakers.
- Assist with planning events and other programs.
- Maintain database of upcoming events and student attendance.
- Assist other UWSP faculty and staff with using the Pro Events system.
- Greet visitors to the Anderson Classroom-to-Career Center and provide general info on programs.
- Share advice with freshman students via Business 100 Coaching program (as needed).
