Job Summary

JobResponsibilities:

  • Serve as Head Coach for the entire ESPORTS Program.
  • Serve as a positive role model and help teach student-athletes the value of fair play good sportsmanship teamwork dedication and commitment.
  • Develop monitor supervise and motivate student-athletes to play ESPORT both beginners and advanced runners.
  • Commit to building relationships with and have a willingness to coach student-athletes academically and athletically.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes.
  • Check the academic eligibility of student-athletes.
  • Instruct student-athletes in fundamental skills strategies and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
  • Guild student-athletes to lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values pride of accomplishment acceptable social behavior self-discipline and self-confidence.
  • Work cooperatively and in a timely manner with SchoolAthletic Office and CPS District Athletics Department in regard to all requests for information that might be periodically required.
  • Schedule pre-season practices on the first day permitted for the sport.
  • FollowDistrict Athletic Department Policy as outlined in Coaches Handbook and meetall criteria as outlined injob description.
  • Meetall requirements set forth by the State Board of Education CPS the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) relative to the mandated Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) and ODE Pupil Activity Permit (PAP).
  • Recognizethe need to be aware of and implement all applicable administrative policies set forth by the Board of Education Superintendents of Schools School Principals Conference Leagues OHSAA.
  • Provideall applicable in-season training rules as well as any that may apply to out-of-season conduct to team members in writing prior to the start of the season. Followappropriate due process procedures when violations occur.
  • Model the behavior expected of our student-athletes including timeliness to games and practices. being positive and enthusiastic being respectful and practicing constructive criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program.
  • Maintainsuitable sideline conduct including the use of appropriate language at all times.
  • Acceptand profitfrom constructive criticism and suggestions for improving coaching performance.
  • Participatein clinics and other available programs to improve coaching performance.
  • Participatein School Events (i.e. Awards Night Programs Pep Assemblies Athletic Boosters Meetings etc.).
  • Showphysical vitality for the sport as well as use of good judgement and decision-making.
  • Be competent in techniques of the sport so that student-athletes respond positively to directions given.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt properly to changing game situations.
  • Be well-versed and knowledgeable in matters pertaining to the sport and look at ways to constantly improve knowledge and coaching techniques.

  • Game plans and strategies reflect the positive utilization of scouting reports videotape exchanges (where applicable) etc.
  • Ensure that team is well-prepared for opponents.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.

Skills/Essential Functions:

  • Fundraising experience.
  • Have a passion and dedication to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of skills associated with this sport.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.


Training/Certifications:

  • Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.
  • Successful participation in a similar activity in high school and/or college.
  • Evidence of successful past coaching experience at the high school or college level is required.
  • Provide a satisfactory result on a County Police Records CheckState BCII Check andFBI Fingerprint Background Check.
  • Possess an Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupils Activity Permit (PAP).
  • Provide proof of completion of Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/Certification

CONTRACT PROVISIONS:
TYPE OF CONTRACT: Supplemental Annual Limited
SALARY: Per Schedule E of current C.F.T. Labor Agreement
