General Description
Under the direction of the Manager Infrastructure and Security the IT Technician will work with other Technology Services personnel in the installation configuration inventory and repair of District End User Technology and will provide technical support and guidance to end users of District technology.
District End-Users Technology is herein defined as any up-to-the-wall District purchased technology software or hardware that integrates with networks servers systems or applications AND which employees use to perform their work functions or students use to complete educational objectives.
This position is assigned to the Visalia Campus Full-Time 12-month position.
Monday Friday 7:45 a.m. 4:45 p.m.
Initial placement is at $64210.

Job Duties
Job duties of the IT Technician include:
- Installs supports modifies and maintains District End-User Technology. Where applicable installs maintains and updates District End-User Technology in accordance with District safety standards.
- Assists with equipment moves of District End-User Technology.
- Performs user help desk functions operations record-keeping documentation and communication to log and track resolution of issues problems and requests.
- Provides end-user guidance for district applications and services that have been designed approved and are documented for use on personal devices.
- Schedules repairs and completes warranty claims as necessary requests and stores spare and replacement parts.
- Ensures proper operation maintenance troubleshooting repairs and security of District End-User Technology to provide technology resources for District faculty staff and students.
- Maintains a current and accurate inventory of District End-User Technology and other IT fixed assets.
- Assists with receiving IT equipment and ensuring asset information is entered into inventory.
- Participates in District provided training involving the operation use and support of District End-User Technology.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications(Education & Experience):
Any combination of experience or education equivalent to:
- A high school diploma and one year of related college-level course work OR
- A high school diploma and one year of IT end-user support experience.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
- Valid Californias drivers license
- An incumbent must be insurable at the standard rate by the employers insurance carrier at all times while employed in this classification by the College of the Sequoias Community College District.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- A wide variety of technology software peripherals and methods related to District End-User Technology.
- Commonly used and industry standard end-user desktop environments and operating systems.
- Commonly used and industry standard end-user software applications.
- Issue tracking and documentation software services and methods.
- Information systems technology and terms.
- Oral and written communication skills.
Ability to:
- Use computers and computer technology in daily duties.
- Use initiative and problem-solving skills in carrying out responsibilities.
- Perform skilled technical work in the installation maintenance and repair of end user technology.
- Maintain current knowledge of technical advances in all areas of responsibility.
- Read and interpret technical manuals instructions and online resources.
- Keep detailed precise records and handle correspondence effectively.
- Work independently while meeting schedules and timelines.
- Operate office equipment computer or related peripherals.
- Adhere to department established methods of communication.
- Adhere to department established methods of documentation.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socio-economic cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds of employees and students.
Working Conditions:
Environment
- May include evenings and weekends.

- Driving a vehicle to conduct work.
Physical Abilities
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to read documents.
- Ability to hear and speak to communicate with students/employees/public.
- Ability to move equipment weighing 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach in all directions.
