**The Field Service Technician MUST live a commutable distance to Syracuse New York. The Public Safety customers are located centrally in the state of New York.**
Perform preventative maintenance focusing on trend analysis and comprehensive documentation.
Develop solutions for complex technical issues related to system maintenance upgrades and support.
Engage in continuous training on the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques.
Collaborate with Engineering Project Management and Sales to maintain optimize and support advanced communication systems.
Optimize and support complex communication systems and software applications including advanced troubleshooting of software-driven electronics provisioning of infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and Broadband systems.
Maintain optimize test and document complex communication systems.
Provide weekly activity and accomplishment reports.
Demonstrate knowledge of RF systems (transmitters receivers antenna networks) standard telephony dedicated data circuits and packet switching techniques.
Specific Knowledge/Skills Required:
Security CompTIA or a related certification is highly desirable.
Proficiency in computer network installation configuration and maintenance including cabling routers switches firewalls and bridges.
Knowledge of wired communication systems such as LAN and WAN.
Experience with logging recording systems RF interfaces wired/wireless communication systems and networking equipment.
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word Excel Outlook and Access.
Strong self-management and interpersonal skills to work effectively with Motorolas customers subcontractors (MSS) and internal teams (Sales Engineering Project Management and customer service).
Self-motivated and self-managed to perform duties with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to quickly solve customer problems in stressful situations.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justices Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
Target Base Salary Range: $80000 - $90000 USD
