  • 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri 2:15 PM - 10:15 PM
  • 2nd Shift Pay: $26.75/hour ( 8% shift premium)

Training Schedule: Will train on 1st shift for up to 3 weeks (Monday-Thursday: 6AM-4PM)

As a Welder 3 (CI Tech) at Caterpillar you will:

  • Quick repairs on production line equipment
  • Implement safety measures
  • Work with fabrication technicians manufacturing planners and manufacturing engineers on improvement projects.
  • Follow and utilize CPS principles of 5S Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting Waste Elimination and Standard Work.
  • Assist with resolution of CI cards.
  • Help provide tooling support to the line including welding fabrication assembly and/or Machining.
  • Utilizes systems such as Microsoft Office such as Teams PowerPoint etc.
  • Once trained utilizes 2D and/or 3D modeling software and CNC router/plasma software
  • Able to MIG TIG and stick weld to support various projects
  • Able to machine components using manual mill and lathe
  • Relies on independent decision-making and problem solving to complete job tasks
  • Cross-functional communication to complete tasks
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work
  • Must meet deadlines.
  • Prioritize safety
  • Work independently with limited supervision
  • Contributing team member

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive operations
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a Manufacturing or shop environment
  • Prior experience with welding fabrication and machining
  • Must currently be at least in a Welder II position

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Mechanical experience such as tool design auto/home repair etc.
  • Prior experience programming a CNC router/plasma table
  • Prior experience using a mill and/or lathe
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Prior experience using 2D and/or 3D modeling software and the ability to read blueprints.
  • Prior experience using 3D printer

Summary Pay Range:

$26.75 - $33.45
