POSITION TITLE:Adventure Club Assistant Director
Hours:Part-time
Pay Rate: $17.58/hour (starting pay with no experience)
REPORTS TO:FHE Adventure Club Director
JOB SUMMARY:
The assistant director is responsible for assisting with the coordination supervision and management of the total operation of the child care center and will serve as the person-in-charge in the absence of the director. The assistant director is expected to communicate well with staff parents and children. Ensures a safe and nurturing environment. Supports the child-care program in providing quality care that will be safe affirming enjoyable and enriching to children.
QUALIFICATIONS:The individual must be a self-starter who has the ability to make good judgments for the sake of the center and who is reliable and trustworthy. Having experience in crisis situations is a plus. The potential candidate must be able to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance as well as be willing to participate in continuing education. Below are specific required qualifications:
- Have A High School Diploma Or The Equivalent
- Be At Least 18 Years Of Age
- Four Years Of Working With Children In A Group Setting
- College Training In Education Child Development Or Related Field May Be Substituted For Up To Two Years Of Experience.
- Be Reliable And Conscientious In Carrying Out Assigned Tasks
- Be Flexible In Working With The Director Staff Parents And Children
- Have The Ability To Relate Well With Children And Parents And Maintain Confidentiality
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help Plan Teach And Supervise Indoor And Outdoor Activities In A Safe Manner
- Help Maintain Centers Compliance With State Federal And Licensing Standards And MCS School Board Policies And Procedures
- Establishing And maintaining Control And Providing For The Safety Of The Children
- Assist Site Director With Parent Contacts
- Receive And Dispatch Important Information To Ensure Parents And Childs Needs Are Addressed
- In Directors Absence Supervises Program Staff And Children
- Performing Some Bookkeeping Tasks
- Preparing And Maintaining Accurate Records
- Assisting in the Selection And Purchase Of Supplies Equipment Toys Books And Other Materials
- Serves Nutritious Snacks At Scheduled Mealtimes
- Identifies And Reports Major Problems To The Site Director For Proper Resolution
- Maintain A Clean And Orderly Physical Environment Conductive To The Growth And Development Of Children
- Attend And Actively Contribute To Staff Meetings And Training Classes
- Interact With The Children In A Way That Clearly Conveys Love And Acceptance
- Keep Children Safe At All Times
- Performs other such duties as required and/or assigned by the Director.
