Job Responsibilities
- Facilitates orientation assessment group individual and family rehabilitative counseling services for the family court sentenced department of juvenile offenders housed at Kirkland and Broad River Correctional Institutions.
- Participates in offender focus case management team accountability board hearings and offender community meetings.
- Documents all juvenile justice offenders initial orientation and assessments crisis interventions and other rehabilitative services within the automated record system and offender record in accordance with the young offender institutional services policy and standards.
- Coordinate institution visits and work in collaboration with third party state agencies to include the Department of Juvenile Justice Department of Childrens Advocacy Department of Disability and Special Needs.
- Provides recommendations concerning DJJ parole eligibility with respect to offender progress.
- Ensures all referrals monthly reports and release documents are completed.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
A bachelors degree and one (1) year of experience working in a correctional setting.
