JOB GOAL: Develop lead and execute a comprehensive and strategic communication plan that promotes and encourages an understanding of the districts goals and accomplishments. Serve as the districts spokesperson Public Records Officer and communications counsel to the Superintendent and Executive Cabinet. Provide leadership that maintains positive community relations and support among parents students community leaders area businesses media and other stakeholders. Strengthen the districts online presence brand identity and community partnerships. Ideal candidates will bring experience leading a school or similar complex organization applying those leadership skills to communications and community engagement. |
Education:
Professional Certification:
- MA Educator Licensure required (Principal/Assistant Principal Director/Supervisor Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent or Academic Teaching License accepted)
Preferred Experience:
- Experience as an educator and/or school-based leader is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional and proven written oral and visual communications skills required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Five years of experience in communications public relations journalism or school/district leadership with significant communications responsibilities required.
- Experience with public records law is preferred.
- Experience using FOIA Direct Smore School Messenger Communicate Class Intercom and Apptegy Thrillshare preferred.
Skills:
- Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
- Bilingual skills especially in Spanish and Portuguese are highly desirable
- Candidates should have a passion for working with students families and colleagues
- Candidates must be flexible and collaborative
- Candidates must be able to multitask in a fast-paced supportive environment that nurtures student growth
- Candidates must be organized and able to meet ongoing time-sensitive deadlines for work production
Alternative degrees/experience may be substituted for the above at the discretion of the Superintendent if such a substitution brings a strong candidate forward.

- Lead districtwide communications and public relations by developing and executing a proactive plan that strengthens the reputation of Natick Public Schools aligns with School Committee policies and promotes the districts goals and accomplishments.
- Serve as strategic advisor to the Superintendent Executive Cabinet and school leaders ensuring messaging reflects real-time school contexts and guiding crisis communications media relations and brand identity.
- Oversee communication systems and tools including newsletters websites social media emergency alerts and mass messaging platforms; provide content development editorial review and staff training to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
- Manage district spokesperson and liaison responsibilities including responding to media inquiries coordinating recognition events and fostering relationships with families community partners town officials and the Parent Coordinating Council.
- Direct operational communications support for schools departments and initiatives by producing and reviewing written materials digital media and event communications; maintain timely responses through district communication channels.
- Fulfill statutory and compliance responsibilities as Public Records Officer in coordination with IT finance and legal counsel.
- Advance community engagement priorities by supporting district initiatives related to equity bullying prevention and family partnerships.

- communicate with others so that information received and given is understood and accurately communicated;
- communicate and collaborate effectively with students parents and other staff members in person via video conference on the telephone and/or in writing;
- observe details at close range
- in the school setting ensure the safety of students;
- multitask and meet multiple demands from several people;
- may need to teach and support students with life skills development such as eating cleaning and toileting
- lifting up to and including 25 lbs
- the noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
