Job Summary

Position: RN Cardiovascular Recovery Unit (CVRU)

Location: Cooperstown NY 13326
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Option to Extend
Schedule: Full-time 36 hrs/week 12-hour Day Shifts

Department Highlights

6-bed recovery unit avg census 612 patients daily

Procedures include PCI TAVR LAAO vascular interventions IR procedures and occasional pacemakers

LOS typically 26 hours; rapid turnover environment

RN ratio 1:2 with support staff assistance

Summary
The CVRU RN provides comprehensive care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and interventional procedures. This role requires the ability to manage both step-down patients and higher acuity cases when needed.

Primary Duties

Recover patients from diagnostic and interventional CV procedures

Manage ICU-level devices (Impella IABP temporary pacers) when necessary

Support patient flow with efficient turnover and safe discharges

Document assessments medications and interventions accurately

Work collaboratively with physicians APPs and ancillary staff

Requirements

ASN required

BLS & ACLS certifications required

Step-down RN experience required; ICU background a plus
