THE ROLE
Our site in Decatur TX is seeking a/an Production Planner Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2026 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.
This role will report directly to the Materials Manager and will provide an opportunity to gain hands-on material management inventory control CPI and Scheduling experience. Youll have an opportunity to partner with various other teams to solve issues and provide solutions.
What Youll Do
Participate in developing data and trends for materials planning
Support the development of KPIs.
Document current processes and workflows and assist in driving CPI through standardized processes and implementation of corporate SOPs
May work with the manufacturing team and participate in the development of monthly production volume planning using the business forecast inventory position actual customer orders and the defined capacity parameters.
Support the development of processes and plans to improve supply capabilities.
Perform escalated expediting when required to ensure on-time delivery of material.
Mitigate risks for short-term shortages with internal suppliers to ensure successful customer delivery.
Track monitor and expedite product throughout end-to-end supply chain; including these steps/complexities: In-house Manufacturing 3rd party vendor processing Data evaluation/exchange among 3rd party vendors and Internal Quality & Engineering
Facilitate cross-functional coordination of tasks to drive to a positive on-time customer delivery
Facilitate expanded SAP use / systemic processes deployment (specific focus on integrating the supply chain into ERP tool use quality data exchange timing of logical with physical movement)

Proficient in MS Excel Project and Word
Basic understanding of Supply/Demand and MRP principles
Strong planning and organizational skills
Strong data presentation skills
Timely Completion of tasks
Ability to work independently as well as with others
Ability to research and develop statistical models predictive analysis and data visualization
Experience with relational databases (primarily Microsoft SQL) and data warehouse methodologies/practices would be a great asset but not required
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year
Enrolled in a 3-year or 4-year University Degree in the field of Supply Chain Management/Data Science/Computer Science/Information Technology/Business or equivalent
Graduation date of Spring 2026 or later
Eligibility
Must be a currently enrolled student
Available to work 40 hours a week M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June.
Must be familiar with the universitys requirements to participate in a co-op program
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to wear required PPE.
