Summary: The Data Modeler/Architect is a pivotal role focused on designing modeling and mapping data solutions for the enterprise data warehouse. This position requires a strategic approach to data architecture ensuring robust data models and seamless data integration. The Data Modeler/Architect will collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to drive data initiatives that enhance operational performance and support the development of an industry-leading data warehouse.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to define and document data architecture and modeling needs * Architect and design comprehensive solutions for the enterprise data warehouse; Sourcing data from multiple Insurance and Reinsurance Policy Treaty Claim and financial systems * Design and implement Source to Target mappings optimized for high-volume data integration * Create logical and physical data models and implement them on SQL Server platforms * Work closely with the development team to ensure accurate translation of mappings into code
* Develop strategies for data collection and ingestion and write SQL based solutions to validate data accuracy and integrity in the data warehouse * Analyze and design enterprise data models for optimal reporting; Support reporting teams in understanding and utilizing the data warehouse model effectively * Participate in release planning and validate changes post-deployment * Develop SQL Server views for reporting and dashboard development * Troubleshoot and optimize SQL and Informatica mappings and stored procedures
Required Skills : * B.S. degree in Computer Information Science Information Management or Statistics * 10 years of data architecture and design experience working with development team to extract data directly from source applications and loading to an enterprise data warehouse * 3 years of experience within the Insurance and reinsurance domain * Advanced experience with extracting data from Insurance applications * Extensive knowledge of Data Warehousing ETL and BI Architectures concepts and frameworks * Knowledge of RDBMS platforms (SQL Server DB2 etc.) with experience in generating DDL * Capable of creating and tuning Semantic layer Reporting Views * Capable of facilitating data discovery sessions involving business subject matter experts * Strong interpersonal skills including both written and verbal communication skills * Strong organizational skills and analysis skills * Possess the ability to work as part of a team * Possess knowledge of Guidewire Policy Center Guidewire Claims Center SAP FS-CD and SAP FI-GL applications
