Job Description

Location: Northern Virginia (traveling between sites in the local market)

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Low Voltage Technician with experience in data centers and commercial environments to join our team in the Northern Virginia market. This role involves traveling between multiple sites in the region to perform low-voltage installations including structured cabling racks terminations and related systems. Many projects will be in new construction environments (no HVAC/AC/heat) so candidates must be comfortable working in these conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install terminate and test Cat5e Cat6 and fiber optic cabling in data centers and commercial facilities.

  • Perform rack and stack of network and telecom equipment.

  • Install and support low-voltage systems.

  • Travel between sites within the NOVA area to support multiple projects.

  • Work effectively in new construction job sites often without HVAC/AC/heat.

  • Follow installation standards drawings and project specifications.

  • Label document and maintain accurate as-builts for all installations.

  • Communicate with project managers site leads and general contractors to ensure on-time quality installations.

  • Maintain a clean safe and organized work environment in line with OSHA and site safety requirements.

Qualifications & Experience
  • 2 4 years of experience in structured cabling or low-voltage installation (data center/commercial preferred).

  • Experience working on new construction sites and ability to adapt to changing conditions.

  • Proficiency with cabling tools and test equipment (Fluke OTDR punch tools fiber scopes etc.).

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and cable maps.

  • Comfortable working in various site conditions (hot/cold dusty active construction zones).

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • OSHA 10/30 and/or BICSI certification is a plus.

  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required (company mileage/travel reimbursement provided when applicable).
